The School of Nursing has the following departments:

Research, Education and Administration Department
Department of Research, Education and administration (REA)
Courses are offered at the B.Sc., M.Sc. and M.Phil levels in Health Research, Nursing Education and Nursing Administration. We prepare students to be able to develop research proposals and conduct health research employing Good Clinical Practices that meet acceptable ethical standards. Students are also prepared to take up carriers as Nursing Tutors as well as Managers of Nursing Institutions and health facilities.
Department of Community Health Nursing
The department offers courses that prepare students to be able to work as nurses at the community level with emphasis on disease prevention, health promotion, empowerment, advocacy, community development and research. Students are prepared to be able to promote optimum health of individuals and communities.
Department of Maternal and Child Health
The department is in School of Nursing. The courses are taken in four semesters in Level 300 and 400 of the BSc. Program. Students are required to do courses in Obstetric and Gynaecology and Paediatric Nursing.
